Capture the Flag 2021!


Keene Youth Commission is thrilled to announce the return of a beloved summer tradition here in Keene, Capture the Flag! Starting on June 22 at 7 pm children and teens of all ages can come to iconic Marcy Field to play in this friendly but spirited game. When: Every Tuesday starting June 22 until August 24 from 7PM- 8:15PM. Where: Marcy Field Parking: At the Holt House or hiker parking and not on the lawn.

Town of Keene Strategic Plan: Adopted on June 8, 2021


The Town Board unanimously adopted the Town of Keene 2021 Strategic Plan at the June 8th Board meeting. Adoption of the plan does not mean that every recommendation will now be enacted, rather it signals a commitment by the Board to examine each set of recommendations and commit to working on the 5 areas outlined in the report; Seniors and Health Care, Childcare, Achievable Housing, Short Term Rentals and Hiker Parking and Recreation. Dog Licensing


Town of Keene Dog Licensing In New York State, including the Town of Keene, every dog 4 months of age or older is required to be licensed. Owners must apply for a license with the Town Clerk at the Town Hall. The information needed to receive a license is the owner's home address, the dog's name, breed information, spay or neuter information, and current rabies vaccination information. COVID-19 Hiking Access Changes


To reduce Covid-19 health risks associated with crowding, the Town of Keene is prohibiting spill-over hiker parking on some local streets during the public health crisis. Parking on Johns Brook, Market and Adirondack Streets in Keene Valley will be limited to local residents beginning Friday, April 24. Direct access to the Garden, which is the jumping off point for major trails into the Johns Brook Valley and the Great Range, will remain open for local hikers and visitors. Once the 45-car lot is full, spill-over parking will not be permitted. Signs and traffic barricades will mark where it is illegal to park. Violators will be towed.
